About 🌟🎨 Frédéric Jousset (born 3 May 1970) is a French entrepreneur and philanthropist. He co-founded Webhelp in 2000 and sold it to Concentrix in 2023 for an impressive $4.8 billion 💰✨. As a true patron of the arts, he launched the Art Explora foundation and its investment arm ArtNova in 2019 🌍🎭.

🏛️ Early Life

Frédéric Jousset was born to Marie-Laure Jousset, Chief Curator at Beaubourg, and Hubert Jousset, President of GEFIP and the École normale de musique 🎼. A 1992 graduate of HEC 🎓, he served as a second lieutenant 🪖 for the 6th Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment. He has a sister, Alexandra Jousset, a journalist 📰.

💼 Career

Starting in 1994, Jousset worked for Kérastase, part of L’Oréal. In 1998, he founded Clientis SA, a software publisher for beauty salons 💄. Later, he joined Bain & Company as a strategy consultant 📊. In June 2000, he co-founded Webhelp SA with Olivier Duha, evolving from IT support services to outsourcing business operations 🌐.

In 2014, he secured a 50-year lease for Relais de Chambord hotel 🏨 near the Château de Chambord, entrusting Jean-Michel Wilmotte with its renovation 🛠️. The hotel reopened in 2018 with 55 rooms and a gourmet restaurant 🍽️. He acquired Beaux Arts Magazine in 2016 🖌️ and Le Quotidien de l’Art in 2017 🗞️. From 2020, he stepped down from his executive role at Webhelp but remained vice-president of the board 👔. By 2023, he sold Webhelp for $4.8 billion 💵 and acquired Smac, a waterproofing manufacturer in 2024 🛠️.

🖼️ Art Patronage

Jousset served on the Musée du Louvre’s patronage council and Acquisitions Commission from 2007 to 2014 🏛️. His contributions through Webhelp aided in acquiring Poussin’s “The Flight Into Egypt” 🎨. He was an administrator at the Louvre from 2016 to 2023 🌟.

In 2019, Jousset founded Art Explora with a mission to democratize art access 🤝. He also introduced ArtNova, a €100-million fund dedicated to the cultural ecosystem, particularly art tech 📱. His investments, such as Beaux Arts Magazine, were consolidated under ArtNova.

In 2021, he announced the creation of a super-large catamaran ⛵, the Art Explorer, the first museum-boat to tour the oceans 🌊. A model was displayed at Expo 2020 in Dubai 🏗️. In March 2024, the 47.7m-wide, 56m-high Art Explorer was moored in Venice during the 60th Venice Biennale 🇮🇹✨.

Art Explora & Académie des Beaux-Arts European Prize was initiated in 2020 to award innovative cultural projects (€150,000 annually) 🏆💶. In 2021, Art Explora launched a residency program in Paris 🌆 and partnered with Centre Pompidou 🇫🇷 and Tate 🇬🇧 for mobile museum initiatives 🚍. By 2023, the foundation transformed Hangar Y into a contemporary art center 🖼️🏛️.
